After All 3 games were played tough and close all night for the Women, some of the loses were just tough.
Komin Up seemed to get the worst end of the stick on Monday night as they lost both games, as they could have easily went the other way. With the game tied at 41, Komin Up had a chance to beat Lady Air, as they raced down the court on a 3 on 2 break. After attacking the basket, and pulling out for a baseline jumper, the shot just rimmed off. Lady Air rebounded the ball and moved it from side to side on offense, where they found their shooter open in the corner. After a bad shooting night (2-9) up to that point, Jodian hit the shot that counts, as she nailed the three. Lady Air won the game 44-41, as Anitra led the way with 12 points and 9 boards for them. Kym O had 16 points and 17 boards for Komin Up, and Jasmine R had 17 points in the loss.
Komin Up had a back to back against Shadow next, and they were not able to sustain late in the game. With Taisha having to sit out most of the 2nd half due to cramping, Shadow simply was too much for just 4 players. Michelle F led the way with 26 points and 16 rebounds, followed by Juanise with 10 points and 13 rebounds inher 1st game. Megan rounded out the scoring with 12 points as they were able to win their 1st game 59-52. Kym led Komin Up with 19 points and 14 boards, followed by Janiqwa with 14 points, and Jasmine with 11 points and 13 boards.
FAB vs TNT - If this was a match up of the 2 best teams so far on Monday night (according to records), they sure lived up to the hype. With defense taking over all night, there was only 1 player to scratch double figure scoring for either team. Amanda D led FAB to a 36-33 win, as she scored 12 points in the game for FAB. with Taneika anchoring the defense with 3 blocks, they held TNT to 33 points on the night. TNT didn’t give up too many points either, and Jenna S cleaned the boards with 10 on the night, but they just couldn’t answer to the tight defense by FAB, as these two teams have split their 2 games so far this season.
