With the Monday Men’s and Women’s Summer leagues coming to an end, both games matched up the #2 seeds vs the #4 seeds in the final game.

MOC vs Bruins
After the Bruins big win last week over the #1 seed, they were looking to continue their run to the title against the 2nd seeded MOC team. With MOC coming in with MVP Arthur W and All League Player Mike Harris, this would be a tough game for them to win, but they seemed ready for the challenge. Arthur came out firing as usual, scoring 12 points in the 1st half to pace his team. With the rest of the team playing defense, and securing their area, the game was led early by MOC. But the Bruins had an All League player of their on in Karoxi G that lea his team with 12 points in the first half, while the rest of his team did whatever it took to compete in the Championship game. The Bruins scrappy play got them a lead by halftime, 30-29 over MOC. The 2nd half started and the Bruins had a problem scoring the ball, as they had to rely on their defense to give them a chance. Arthur scored 13 of his 25 points for MOC, while Mike scored 6 of his 13 points as they led their team in scoring. But MOC only scored 22 points in the 2nd half of the game, giving the Bruins a chance to crap it out. Adam A led the Bruins in the half with 5 points, as they were held to just 16 points after halftime. The defense of MOC pushed them over the top to win the Men’s Monday 2011 Summer League 51-46.

Komin Up vs Fab
With Komin’ Up coming together to win last weeks playoff opener against Lady Air, they sure looked ready to beat Fab in the final game of the 2011 Summer League. As Breana G scored 18 points in the 1st half, followed by 10 from Corina T, they scored 44 points in the 1st half. Fab on the other side of the ball was lead by Debbie C with 14 big first half points, while the rest of the team chipped in to spread out the scoring load. Fab scored 41 points and trailed by 3 points at halftime to Komin Up 41-44. The defense and depth of Fab showed up in the 2nd half, as they harassed Komin’ Up continually, as they wore them down with their subs and team effort. As Erika A led Komin Up with 9 points in the 2nd, as they had 4 players finish the game with double figure scoring (Breana 24, Erika 15, Corina 12, and 10 for Taylor C), their 22 second half points was a far cry from their 44 first half barrage. Fab kept up their scoring, as Krystal F led in the 2nd half with 14 of her 20 points, followed by Debbie with 8 of her 22 for the game. Josette C finished in double digits with 10 points on the night, while Taneika snatched 10 rebounds, and Carmen M had 3 steals. Fab went on to win the game and Championship 78-66 over Komin’ Up.
